About CCJP-M

CCJP-M is a Catholic Commission operating within the structures of the Diocese of Mutare in Zimbabwe. Our main focus is to promote justice, peace and reconciliation inspired by the 10 Social Teachings of the Church.

Job summary

Under the direct supervision of the MEAL Officer and Programs Manager, the M&E Intern will support the development and evolution of organizational performance management framework as well as specific programs M&E needs to ensure the quality, and effectiveness of program implementation. The intern will provide assistance to the CCJP-Mutare program staff in developing performance monitoring plans and results frameworks during program design and implementation, creating M&E system, processes and tools, contributing to measuring, analyzing, and reporting results. The opportunity will help build his or her program performance measurement skills through exposure to a variety of program and business development activities across the Diocese of Mutare.

Job description

Support staff members in setting up systems for program M&E; Assist with the design and development of forms and questionnaires for data collection and analysis; Conduct regular visits to program sites to provide technical support and ensuring proper monitoring of program activities; Document lessons, projects impact and community stories; Assist with research and writing or editing; Support data collection, analysis, storage, quality and control in a consistent standardized and disciplined manner; Ensures safeguarding of information and participants; Support the team through various administrative duties.

Knowledge and skills requirements

Have a degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, statistics, media, journalism, communication ro any relevant degree (or be currently enrolled in same or have equivalent relevant experience); A relevant certificate in Monitoring and Evaluation is a requirement; At least one year of experience in community development and peacebuilding work; Demonstrate excellent writing and analytical skills; Have a high level of computer literacy; Have strong organizational skills and attention to detail required; Have an ability to manage diverse activities and to meet deadlines required; Flexibility to changing situations and priorities desired; Demonstrate an understanding of international development issues; Demonstrate initiative and ability to work independently and as a member of a team to coordinate and / or lead the efforts to effectively meet M&E needs.
